COVID-19: How TechMet is responding

    COVID-19 RESPONSE

    As a family-owned company, the health and well-being of our TechMet family—customers, employees, and partners—and our communities is our highest priority. We are vigilantly monitoring the ever-changing landscape of COVID-19 and adjusting our operations as circumstances require.

    We are being guided by the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and state and local officials.

    TechMet provides carbide in various forms to manufacturers of tools for a broad range of industries in North America. Our products are utilized in virtually every industry due to the diverse nature and applications of tungsten carbide. Many of these business sectors are classified by the Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to be critical and essential businesses, which have been mandated by many states to stay operational during the COVID-19 pandemic. TechMet is a critical and essential business that supports these business sectors and is obligated to remain operational in order to supply materials, tools, and support to critical essential industries.

    As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we wanted to share some of the steps we are taking.

    Health & Safety

    We have taken precautionary measures and instituted numerous safety and health protocols for all employees. These protocols are reviewed, updated, and continuously monitored by our executive management team, so any changes or mandates can be implemented quickly. We continue to be an agile work environment for our employees, creating the safest workspaces that we can, and offering the flexibility of working remotely wherever possible. We have provided guidance to employees outside of our headquarters to follow all local mandates.

    Operational Capabilities

    Currently we do not see any widespread disruption or shortages in our supply chain. Raw materials, manufacturing capacity and transportation / logistics channels remain stable. Our Customer Service Center, Warehouses, Quality Labs and Technical Center are all fully functional and working at normal rates. We are open for business and continue to fulfill orders to our North American customers daily.

    Service to Our Customers

    TechMet’s Customer Service Team is fully staffed and working our normal business hours. Our warehouses are also fully staffed and working normal hours, and we continue to offer same day shipping for standard package orders received by 5:00 pm EST. Members of our Sales and Engineering Teams are in daily contact with customers and are available remotely by phone and with a variety of conferencing tools to support and provide answers to customer questions and concerns. We intend to stay in touch and provide service to our valued customers.

    TechMet is honored by the trust placed in us as a supply chain partner. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and adjust operations accordingly, and are determined to stay open and operational during this time.
